What is ORTHOFLEX One®
ORTHOFLEX One® is the first and only commercial viscous supplement combining HA (hyaluronic acid) and CS (chondroitin sulfate) in the treatment of degenerative joint disease.
ORTHOFLEX One® is a sterile, viscoelastic solution containing two highly purified cross-linked biological polymers: hyaluronic acid at a concentration of 60 mg in 3 ml and chondroitin sulfate 90 mg in 3 ml. The solution has a high molecular weight - 3.0 MilDa - which guarantees its excellent effectiveness and a strong therapeutic effect.
ORTHOFLEX One® is supplied in a prefilled, sterile, single-dose syringe to be injected as 1 dose per treatment.
How does it work?
Hyaluronic acid is an important component of synovial fluid and cartilage and is responsible for lubrication and cushioning in joints.
It reduces friction between joint surfaces and protects soft tissue from trauma by acting as a shock absorber.
Hyaluronic acid also has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, stimulates proteoglycan synthesis and facilitates the evacuation of cartilage residues.
What are the symptoms?
What is treatment with ORTHOFLEX One®?
Just one injection per treatment can treat osteoarthritis symptoms.
ORTHOFLEX One® is administered as a single dose per treatment in the affected joint.
If the treatment is bilateral, a separate syringe should be used for each knee.
Approved for all synovial joints (especially knee and hip, but also ankle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers, toes, temporo mandibular and facet joints).
This effect can be maintained for up to 1 year. Treatment must be repeated to avoid complications.
Any existing joint effusion should be removed by joint aspiration before ORTHOFLEX One® is injected.
